Negroamaro has been long cultivated in the south of Puglia which, since the 6th century B.C:, was characterised almost solely by this grape variety. It is present in the Arco Ionico Leccese, in the area of Brindisi and in the province of Taranto and, like before, it is hand picked around mid September. It produces a deep ruby-red wine, with a pleasant almondy finish and with notes of ripe red fruits and of plum.
