Pizzicati dal ragno che affascina e travolge chiunque si avvicini alla cultura salentina. Il ritmo del tamburello incalza, musicoterapia fa eco a riti e leggende della storia contadina di questa terra. Tamburelli, canti in griko, balli vorticosi e inarrestabili, fino allo spossamento, fino alla trance, fino alla sublimazione del veleno della taranta. Da qui nasce ogni estate La Notte della Taranta, qui mette radici la pianta che esprime tutto l’amore e il calore del Salento e che dà vita ai grandi vini Mottura, anche quest’anno sponsor ufficiale della Notte della Taranta, perché da sempre in piena sintonia con la storia e la cultura di questo territorio.
Storica azienda del Salento, Mottura è, sin dalle sue origini, impegnata nella valorizzazione dei vitigni autoctoni, come il Primitivo e il Negroamaro, e nel mantenimento di antiche e tradizionali lavorazioni come quella del rosato e del moscato reale. Mottura seguirà l’intero evento e offrirà i suoi prodotti d’eccellenza nel back stage del palco tra cui: i rossi Negroamaro Le Pitre Villa Mottura e Primitivo di Manduria Mottura, il Bianco Le Pitre Villa Mottura e il Rosé di uve negroamaro Mottura.
Più di 100mila i partecipanti al Concerto finale della Notte della Taranta, il più grande festival di musica popolare d’Europa. Giunto alla quattordicesima edizione, si svolgerà il 27 agosto, nel piazzale dell’ex Convento degli Agostiniani a Melpignano, nel cuore della Grecìa salentina, area del Salento in cui vive l’antica minoranza linguistica del griko le cui origini si perdono nei tempi, forse, nella Magna Grecia del VI secolo a.C .
Maestro concertatore sarà il pianista e compositore Ludovico Einaudi che, con il suo minimalismo sentimentale, ha portato i ritmi della pizzica salentina in una dimensione internazionale con le due recenti date tutto esaurito al Barbican Centre di Londra.

Every summer the Notte della Taranta starts here, at the very roots of the Salento area’s love and warmth, a plant giving life to the great Mottura wines, since always in complete harmony with the history and culture of this territory.
A legendary Salento company, founded in 1927 in Tuglie, Mottura has always been committed to valorising native vines, such as the Primitivo and the Negroamaro, and to maintaining ancient and traditional processes such as that of the rosé and moscato reale. Four generations of a family dedicated to producing great wines, widely distributed to bring Salento’s unique and authentic spirit to the tables of Italy and the world.
Mottura followed the entire event and offered its best products backstage, among which: the reds Negroamaro Le Pitre Villa Mottura and Primitivo di Manduria Mottura, the White Le Pitre Villa Mottura and the Rosé of Mottura negramaro grapes. They also presented the new Extra Dry Sparkling Rosé of Mottura negramaro grapes. Dynamic, full-bodied, with a delicately fruity flavour and intense fragrance of cherry, sour black cherry and raspberry, the Mottura Sparkling Rosè, produced in Salento from only native vines, was the perfect accompaniment to the wonderful 2011 Notte della Taranta party in a triumph of bubbles.
